BFDI: Branches is a 2D platform game based on Battle for Dream Island. Play as Firey, Leafy, Coiny, or Pin and travel through levels filled with platforms, enemies, spikes, gaps, and hidden routes. Each character plays in a different way, so changing your character can change how you handle a level.

Explore Branching Platform Levels

Your main task is to reach the end of each stage without losing all your health. Along the way, you jump across platforms, avoid traps, defeat enemies, and look for safe paths through each area.

Levels can split into different branches. One route may take you over tall platforms, while another sends you through an area filled with enemies. Some paths are easier to reach with a certain character. This gives you a reason to replay stages and try a different approach.

Play as Four BFDI Characters

Firey, Leafy, Coiny, and Pin each have different strengths. There is no single character that is best for every situation. Your choice depends on whether you need speed, jumping power, a useful attack, or more health.

• Firey is the fastest character. He is useful for rushing through open parts of a level.
• Leafy can jump higher and glide through the air. She can cross wide gaps and reach raised platforms.
• Coiny has balanced stats and can roll into enemies. His roll also helps him move across the ground quickly.
• Pin is slower, but she has more health and can stab enemies with her point.

Face Enemies and Platform Traps

The stages include walking bugs, Shellmets, spikes, pits, and other dangers. Basic enemies can often be beaten by landing on them. But some have spikes or special movement patterns, so jumping without checking the path can cost you health.

Coiny and Pin can attack enemies from the side. Firey depends more on speed, while Leafy can use her jumping and gliding skills to avoid danger. Learning what each enemy does helps you get through harder areas.

Follow a Story with Different Paths

Story Mode connects the platform stages through a branching adventure. Your progress can lead to different paths instead of one fixed line of levels. The focus stays on platform challenges, character abilities, and finding your way through each stage.

Create and Play Custom Levels

BFDI: Branches also has a level editor. You can build stages with platforms, enemies, springs, hazards, objects, and other level parts. You can make a short jumping course, a stage packed with enemies, or a map made around one character’s skills.

The online level browser lets you play stages made by other players. These custom maps can offer speed challenges, tricky jumps, unusual enemy setups, and new routes that are not found in Story Mode.
