Google Block Breaker

Google Block Breaker is a browser-arcade game built around the classic block-breaker (Breakout/Arkanoid) mechanics. The player controls a horizontal paddle at the bottom of the screen, moving it left or right so as to bounce a ball upward. The ball ricochets off walls, the ceiling, and the paddle, and its goal is to hit and destroy a formation of blocks at the top of the play area.

As you break blocks, you earn points. Some levels feature different types of blocks—some take multiple hits to destroy, others might drop power-ups when destroyed. Power-ups can change paddle width, create multiple balls, or provide other boosts to help clear blocks more efficiently. The speed of the ball tends to increase as the game progresses, making timing and precision more important.

If the ball passes below the paddle (i.e. you miss it), you lose a life (or the game may end, depending on its mode). Clearing all the blocks causes you to move to the next stage, where the block arrangement, block strength, ball speed, and sometimes special block types or hazards make things harder. The challenge comes from keeping control over fast, bouncing movement, aiming shots to chip away at hard-to-reach blocks, and making smart use of power-ups to maximize score and survival.
